The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 team points at the Hartwick Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Invitational Saturday, claiming third overall for the show.
Skidmore won the invitational with 47 team points, followed by Hartwick for reserve team honors.
Michelle Borbee (Bellerose, N.Y.) placed second in the novice equitation over fences to qualify for the regional championships that take place March 30 at Skidmore.
Keely O’Hara and Jessica Gurda (Warwick Valley, N.Y.) were the lone Mustang riders to post first place finishes; O’Hara in the open flat class, and Gurda in the intermediate equitation over fences class.
Aside from Borbee, two additional riders claimed second place in their respective class. Kaitlin Mays (Newfane, N.Y.) took second in the novice equitation over fences, and Alexis D’Auria (Cronton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) second in advanced walk trot canter.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena Saturday, hosting an IHSA invitational at the Fearon Road riding arena.
