The Morrisville State College athletics department has named Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, Pa.) and Nate Ryan (Staten Island, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 30.
Hunt, a sophomore on the women’s cross country team, finished fourth overall at the Cazenovia College Wildcat Invitational last Saturday to lead the Mustangs to a sixth place team finish. Hunt crossed the finish line in 21:38.6, less than 30 seconds behind the race winner.
The graduate of Tunkhannock High is majoring in equine science at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Susan and Tom Hunt of Tunkhannock.
Ryan, junior offensive lineman for the football team, was instrumental in the Mustangs battle on the field on Saturday against Kean. The co-captain was part of the line that assisted Morrisville State in moving the ball an offensive best this season, as well as demonstrated impeccable sportsmanship in the heat of the battle.
The graduate of Port Richmond High is majoring in automotive technology at Morrisville State. He is the son of Diane and John Ryan of Staten Island.
