Hunt, Ostuni top finishers for Morrisville State at ECAC Division III Cross Country Championship

Sophomore Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, P.A.) and freshman Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) were top finishers for the Morrisville State College women’s and men’s cross country teams at the ECAC Championships on Saturday at Mount Greylock High School.

Hunt finished the 6K race 72nd overall out of 284 runners with a time of 25:12.Celine Eppolito (North Collins, N.Y.) was the next Mustang to cross the finish line, placing 126th with a time of 26:14 with Evelia Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y.)finishing in 179th place with a time of 27:53. The women did not qualify for team scoring with only three participants.

Ostuni led the men’s team to a 19th place finish out of 43 teams, crossing in 57th place with a time of 29:36 in the 8K race. Ben Sargrad (Manlius, N.Y.) finished next for the Mustangs, crossing in 62nd place with a time of 28:21. Austin Hirsch (Morrisville, N.Y.) Shawn Okula (Medford, N.Y.) and Basil McKenzie (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out team scoring with 107th, 124th and 233rd place finishes, respectively in the field of 287.
