Hartwick remains undefeated with 89-66 win over Morrisville State men

Chris Ryder posted a game high 23 points to lead visiting Hartwick College men's basketball to a decisive 89-66 victory over Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.



Hartwick remains undefeated at 7-0, while the Mustangs drop to 2-4 overall.



Ryder added six rebounds, three assists and three blocks to his tallies, while two additional teammates posted double figures, including Mark Blazek with 18 points, six boards and five assists. Anthony Keane added 10 points and four assists in the win to round out top scorers for the Hawks.



Mickey Davis (Jamesville, NY) led Morrisville State with 21 points, adding four rebounds and two assists, as Hodges Sneed (Syracuse, NY) contributed 12, grabbing eight boards. Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) controlled the glass for the Mustangs with nine, adding six points and three assists to his tallies on the day.



Morrisville State led by as many as five midway through the first period, before Hartwick went on a 12-0 run over a span of two minutes leading to the 45-32 lead at the break.



In the second, Hartwick shot nearly 50 percent from the floor to the Mustangs 36, and posted a 44-34 scoring margin to collect the non-conference victory.



Morrisville State returns to the floor Wednesday, hosting Keuka College to open their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) schedule. Tip-off is at 5 p.m. in the STUAC Gymnasium on the Morrisville State campus.
