Visiting Morrisville State College men's basketball shot just 38 percent from the floor, falling to Hamilton College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action in Clinton.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-3 overall. Hamilton remains perfect at 3-0.
Mickey Davis (Jamesville, NY) led Morrisville State with 20 points and six rebounds while Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) added 11 points and five boards. David Cerasani (Beaver Meadow, NY) contributed eight points to the Mustang efforts.
Pat Sullivan and Eric Benvenuti posted 18 and 17 points respectively to lead the Continentals in the win, Sullivan controlling the boards with nine. Greg Newton and Hans Schulte combined for 14 assists on the day.
Morrisville State held an early 7-2 lead, and maintained a one point advantage up until 13 minutes to go before Benvenuti gave Hamilton a 14-13 lead, sparking the Continental to build up a nine point lead at the half.
In the second, the Mustangs struggled to cut into the Continental lead as Hamilton built up as many as a 24 point advantage enroute to the win.
Morrisville State returns to the court Tuesday, opening the home schedule against SUNY Canton at 7 p.m. in the STUAC Gymnasium.
