MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Alina Fernández, the daughter of Fidel Castro, will share her first-person, intimate account of growing up in Cuba during the ’60s and ’70s during a presentation at SUNY Morrisville on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
The event, free and open to the public, will be held at the Student Activities Center (STUAC) Theater on campus.
In her illuminating talk, Fernández weaves in her unique sense of style and humor to reveal exciting and suspenseful anecdotes, snapshots of Cuban society, her inside scoop on Cuban politics and a detailed view of her father, a Cuban communist revolutionary and politician who governed the Republic of Cuba as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and then as President from 1976 to 2008.
