Gain assistance on which renewable energy system to choose during workshop at Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center

The Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) at Morrisville State College is hosting a workshop to help home, farm and business owners decide which renewable energy system is right for them.



The workshop, Wind or Solar – Which Renewable Energy System is Right for Me? will be held June 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in room 104 B of the RETC in Shannon Hall.



Taught by Ben Ballard, Ph.D., assistant professor of renewable energy and director of the RETC, and Phil Hofmeyer, Ph.D., assistant professor of renewable energy and RETC instructor, the workshop will help participants determine which renewable energy system (wind, solar photovoltaic, or solar hot water) is most practical and economically feasible for their location and will also guide them through a preliminary site assessment for their property, including energy efficiency upgrades.



Participants should bring a utility bill (electric, plus gas/propane for hot water, if not electric), the address of the site, a calculator, and laptop.



The cost of the workshop is $300 or $15 for those who qualify for a scholarship provided through the Department of Labor (DOL) Community Based Job Training Grants (CBJTG) funding (eligibility verification is required).
