Five different Morrisville State field hockey players tallied goals Saturday afternoon, as the visiting Mustangs defeated host Vassar College 6-3, rebounding from a Friday night 3-1 loss to New Paltz.

With the win, Morrisville State improves to 4-6 overall.

Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) put Morrisville State on the board just 2:34 into the contest, netting a score on a penalty corner pass from Lauren Bordonaro (North Tonawanda, NY) for the early 1-0 lead. Bordonaro tallied two assists on the afternoon.

Morrisville State's Amie Dolson (North Syracuse, NY) extended the lead to two, tallying the score off a rebound shot from Sarah Angerer (Cooperstown, NY) in the 13th minute before Vassar put one up on the board collecting a goalkeeper save for the tally.

Dolson regained the two goal advantage for the Mustangs seconds before the half, connecting on a pass from Sybil Stanton (Walton, NY).

Three minutes into the second half, Bordonaro put away her third goal of the season, for the 4-1 Morrisville State lead.

Vassar rallied for two straight scores, threatening the Mustangs, but two additional scores, one from Angerer and a second from Carolyn Sobol (Amherst, NY) in the final minute put the game out of reach as Morrisville State took the 6-3 non-conference win.

Pellegrino collected the win in net, saving three, as the Mustangs out shot Vassar 25-20.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to Hartwick.
