Senior forward Easter Faafiti (Pittsburg, CA) posted 30 points and grabbed 24 rebounds to lead visiting #20 nationally ranked Gallaudet University to a 64-57 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Morrisville State College Sunday afternoon.
Morrisville State pulled to within eight with six minutes remaining in the contest, but Faafiti added nine additional points down the stretch to secure the win for the Bisons, who remain undefeated at 18-0.
Andrea Amati (Frederick, MD) and Stephanie Weiss (Wellington, FL) each were in double figures for Gallaudet, netting 11 and 10 points respectively, while Amati added eight rebounds to her tallies.
Three were in double figures for Morrisville State, including Dyshea Smiley (Harlem, NY) who recorded a double-double with 10 points and season best 12 assists. Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) led the Mustangs with 19 points and nine rebounds, as teammate Keyla Arce (Bronx, NY) came off the bench to have a season high 17 point, three assist and three steal performance.
Gallaudet led 29-23 at the break and held a significant 55-31 advantage on the boards (22-12 offense) on the day.
Morrisville State drops to 3-14 overall, 3-12 in conference action and return to the court Wednesday at Hamilton College.
