Junior Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) posted a 2-2 record to lead Morrisville State College wrestling at the Wheaton Invitational over the course of the weekend in Illinois.
Wrestling at 125 pounds, Delamothe posted his first win of the tournament in the first round, pinning his Mount St. Joseph opponent in 1:38. After suffering a major decision defeat, Delamothe rebounded with an 11-9 decision over Ohio Northern's Jerry Pasquale, before falling the following round of wrestlebacks.
Peyton Amato (Theresa, NY), Goodson Phillipe (Brentwood, NY), and Todd Hall (Athens, PA) each posted a 1-2 record at the invitational in the 141, 149 and heavyweight classes, respectively.
Morrisville State finished 29th overall as a team, and return to the mats Wednesday, hosting SUNY Oswego for a dual at 7 p.m.
