Cornelius Named Dean at Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College

Marsha Cornelius has been named dean of the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College.



Cornelius, of Norwich, N.Y., who has served as interim dean since Sept. 2009, joined the Norwich staff in 1997, holding various positions including academic counselor and coordinator of community services. She also worked at the Morrisville Campus in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources.



In her position as dean, Cornelius provides overall direction for daily operations of the Norwich Campus.



A former advisor to Phi Theta Kappa, the college's honor society, Cornelius is a member of the National Academic Advising Association and the Central New York Continuing Education Association. She serves on the Liberty Partnership Program (LPP) Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors for the Chenango Health Network, and is a member of the Economic Development Roundtable, among other activities.



In 2007 she was honored for her dedication, receiving the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service. The award recognizes outstanding job performance by professional staff in administrative positions and those who have transcended the normal definitions of excellence.



Cornelius earned an associate degree from Morrisville State College and bachelor and master degrees from Binghamton University. She completed her course of study to obtain an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix in June of 2009.
