Morrisville State College men’s soccer outshot the visiting Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers 35 to 3 in non-conference action Thursday evening in Morrisville, N.Y.

Jacob Chase (, N.Y.) tallied both goals for Morrisville State, helping the Mustangs to improve to 6-3-1 overall.

Chase scored his first goal of the evening just over 10 minutes into the game when he collected a cross from junior forward Tom Huber (West Islip, N.Y.), made a great touch around a Panther defender and finished the shot past diving goal keeper, Adam Hoye-Simek.

The Mustangs had several more chances to score in the first half, but were held to the one goal going into halftime. Morrisville State came out strong in the second half as well, creating several scoring opportunities, but again were unable to find the back of the net.

At 68:12 Chase struck again when he headed a Sean Shields cross past the leaping Hoye-Simek.

Hoye-Simek suffered the loss for the Panthers, tallying 13 saves while Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) came away with the win, recording his second collegiate shutout with two saves.

Morrisville State improves to 6-2-1 overall and remains at 2-1-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).

The Mustangs are back in action on Tuesday, October 2nd as they travel to play non-conference opponent Alfred University at 5pm.
