The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) released its 2010 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams, naming three Morrisville State College student-athletes to its first and third teams.
Senior forward Andrew Brobbey (Bronx, NY) garnered first team honors following his performance on the field this season. Brobbey led the Mustangs in scoring, putting 12 in the back of the net and assisted another for 25 points this season. Midway through the year he posted a collegiate best three goals against Gallaudet, and tallied two game winners.
He averaged 1.47 points per game for the Mustangs on the front line, and completed the season ranked third in points and second in goals scored in the conference.
The graduate of Evander Childs High is majoring in accounting at Morrisville State. He is the son of Comfort Effah of Bronx.
Erik Whitcombe (Ogdensburg, NY), freshman forward, received third team honors after tallying 10 goals and three assists for 22 points, including a hat trick and game winning score in his collegiate debut against Green Mountain College for the Mustangs in 2010.
Whitcombe completed the season with a fourth overall ranking in the conference in goals scored.
The graduate of Ogdensburg High is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Carol and Bob Whitcombe of Ogdensburg.
Mustang junior goalkeeper, Shane Sullivan (Sherrill, NY) also received third team honors following the 2010 season. Sullivan posted an 8-7-1 record in net, playing 1335 minutes while making 71 stops for a .772 save percentage and 1.42 goals against average. He also posted a shut out over Southern Vermont midway through the season.
Named the NEAC Athlete men's soccer athlete of the week September 12, Sullivan is ranked fourth in goals against average, fifth in save percentage and fifth in saves in the conference.
The graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State, and is the son of Lauren Sullivan of Sherrill.
Brobbey, Whitcombe and Sullivan earn NEAC Men's Soccer All-Conference honors
