Art exhibition: "The Red Cross Series" now showing at Morrisville State College Butcher Library Gallery

Morrisville State College will be exhibiting the work of painter Lynette K. Stephenson in the Butcher Library Gallery. The exhibition titled, The Red Cross Series, will be available for public viewing until April 7.



Inspired by uncontrollable tragedies that are aspects of the uncertainty of life, Stephenson's paintings, most of which originated from her imagination, are mixed with photographs and old first aid manuals.



Stephenson is an associate professor of Studio Art at Colgate University in Hamilton where she teaches painting and drawing. She has a national exhibition record with recent exhibitions at the Palitz Gallery in New York, 601 Tully and The Warehouse Gallery in Syracuse, and The Poole Art Fair in New York. Her works are included in the Southwestern Bell Corporate Collection in San Antonio, Texas and the Smith Robertson Museum Collection in Jackson, Miss.



A reception for Stephenson will be held on Thur. March 21, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Butcher Library Gallery. Gallery viewing hours are Mon.-Thurs. 8 a.m.-midnight, Fri. 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun. from 1-10 p.m.
