Fourteenth ranked Castleton State hockey tallied four first period goals en route to a 9-2 victory over Morrisville State College Saturday night at the Saint Michael's Holiday Classic in South Burlington, Vermont.
Morrisville State took the one goal lead 3:55 into the first on a power play score by Alex Tillaart (Ashburn, ONT) but Castleton rattled off nine straight for the decisive non-conference win.
Jamie Nelson (Stratford, ONT) added the second Mustang tally just under eight minutes into the final period.
Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC) recorded the loss in net, making 10 stops in 19:49 of play, allowing four scores. Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) made 14 over the next 39:55, allowing five Castleton tallies.
Morrisville State drops to 5-4-1 overall and will face-off against tournament host, St. Michaels tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
