The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has announced the players of the week for the week ending October 13, naming Morrisville State College freshman quarterback Jory Tanner (Adams, N.Y.) the Offensive Rookie of the Week.

Tanner led Morrisville State to a 34-33 come-from-behind conference road victory at Western Connecticut on Saturday. In just the sixth game of his collegiate career, he completed 24-of-39 passes for 246 yards, including touchdown strikes of 14, 54, and nine yards. In the closing minutes of the contest, Tanner engineered a 13-play, 69-yard game winning drive to lift the Mustangs to their first win of 2012.

Tanner currently ranks eighth in the conference in passer efficiency rating (103.7), and registered his second straight 200+ yard passing game in his inaugural collegiate season.

The freshman is a graduate of South Jefferson High and is the son of InaJane and Jeremy Tanner of Adams, New York.
