Morrisville State students participate in Innovative Exploration Forum

Two Morrisville State students, Taylor McDowell and Anthony Piniella, recently participated in SUNY's Innovative Exploration Forum: Undergraduate Research in New York State's Public Higher Education System, in Albany.



The event brought together students from each SUNY campus to showcase research projects that students have been working on to SUNY Administration officials and state legislators, so they may better understand and support the academic programs.



McDowell and Piniella, both information technology: application software development majors, partnered last semester on a software project incorporating object-oriented programming and agile software development methodology.



“It was a great experience sharing our projects with other students,” McDowell said. “We also checked out other students' projects. It was a great learning experience for us and also an experience for others to learn from us.”



“I think it was a great opportunity for students from all the SUNY campuses to share the unique things they're working on and to realize, even though they're working on different kinds of research, there are some common factors involved,” said Dr. Richard Marcoux, assistant professor in the School of Science, Technology and Health Studies.
