The Morrisville State College athletics department has named junior guard Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 13.
Hanks led the men’s basketball team to a 2-0 week, recording a total 36 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and three steals in two conference wins. He nearly attained a triple double in the 101-71 onslaught of rival SUNYIT on Wednesday, recording 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in 28 minutes of play, before following with a 20 point, six rebound performance in the victory over Lancaster Bible.
On the week, Hanks shot 54.6 percent from the floor, connecting on five from beyond the arc, as Morrisville State regained the top position in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).
The graduate of Henninger High School is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State. He is the son of Ethel and Shawn Hanks of Syracuse.
