Professor Reymers has taught sociology and anthropology at SUNY Morrisville since 2001. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University at Buffalo in 2004. Research interests include the ethics of technology, cultural evolution, and memes (not just the internet ones), particularly the effect beliefs have on collective social behavior and trends, from fandom to economic behavior to political insurrections. His most recent publication is “The value of life: Resurrection, resuscitation and the ethics of de-extinction“ (in Non-Human Animals, Engineering, and Ethics, Routledge, forthcoming 2024).
