The Morrisville State College men’s basketball team used a late 14-3 second half run to top visiting Keystone College 94-90 Tuesday night in non-conference action in Morrisville. The victory pulls the Mustangs even at 2-2, while Keystone drops to 1-3 overall.

The Morrisville State College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) in conjunction with the college’s CSTEP  program will be hosting a “Be the Match” Bone Marrow Drive, Thursday, Nov. 29.

Visiting SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball forced 29 turnovers cruising to a 61-34 victory over host Morrisville State College Sunday afternoon in Morrisville. The loss drops the Mustangs to 0-4 overall, while Potsdam improves to 1-3.

Steve Dol (Ingersoll, Ontario) scored the lone Mustang goal as visiting Morrisville State College men’s ice hockey dropped a 4-1  decision to Curry College at the Skidmore College Thanksgiving Classic, held Friday night in Saratoga Springs. The Morrisville State College athletics department has named western equestrian rider Rebecca Brunecz (Sugar Grove, Pa.) and men’s basketball forward Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 18. Brunecz assisted Morrisville State to reserve and high point team honors in two shows on Sunday, topping all competition twice in the intermediate western horsemanship II class to record the blue ribbons.

Visiting SUNY Brockport women’s basketball ignited early in the second half to outlast host Morrisville State College for a 58-45 non-conference victory Tuesday night in Morrisville. The loss drops the Mustangs to 0-3 overall, while Brockport pulls even at 2-2.

A group of Morrisville State College students traveled to Waterville, Maine to help local dairy farmers and learn more about the industry. The 21 students were part of the Northeast Regional Dairy Challenge, an innovative three-day event which promotes the future of the dairy industry. They joined more than 100 other students from nine northeast colleges and two Canadian universities.

Host Oswego State men’s basketball claimed the 2012 Max Zeil Tournament Title Saturday night, posting a 83-59 victory over Morrisville State College. The Mustangs, who opened the season Friday with a 87-59 defeat of Medgar Evers, drops to 1-1 overall with the loss.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian hosted two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) events over the weekend, earning team reserve championship honors at both, just points shy of show champion Skidmore. On Saturday, Skidmore recorded 43 team points to claim the show’s top honor, while Morrisville State came in second with 35, narrowly beating Hartwick who registered 33 points on the day.

The win is the first for the Red Dragons in 2012, as they improve to 1-4 overall, 1-3 in conference play, while the Mustangs drop to 0-7, 0-6 in SUNYAC action.

A second period scoring burst led top nationally ranked Oswego State to a 5-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over host Morrisville State College Friday evening in Morrisville. The loss drops the Mustangs to 0-6 overall, 0-5 in conference action, while the Lakers remain untouched at 5-0, 4-0 in SUNYAC play. James Jarvis (Pickering, Ont.) scored the lone tally for the Mustangs, while Ryan Marcuz (Richmond Hill, Ont.) collected the assist.

With his face inching closer to the shiny trout he held delicately in his hands, Daniel Leigh's eyes focused with intense concentration. He gently rubbed the trout's belly and grinned in amazement as tiny, yellow-colored eggs dropped out. “Here come the eggs, look—here they come,” Jace Reel pointed excitedly as he watched nearby. “This is pretty cool, but the fish was so slimy” said Leigh, who has never touched a fish before.
