On-Campus Student EmploymentCareer Services
Hundreds of MSC students gain valuable work experience while earning monies to defray educational expenses in on-campus jobs through our Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Student Temp Services programs, and Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC). See below for details about the eligibility standards and application process for each.
On-campus positions are highly competitive so treat your on-campus job search as a general job search: apply early, make sure to fill out your applications completely and accurately, apply to as many positions as meet your skills and interests, and connect with Career Services for assistance. Just stop by 308 Whipple Admin Building 308 or give us a call at 315.684.6615 with your questions.
Federal Work-Study (FWS)
Work-study jobs are available only to students awarded FWS as part of their 2014/15 Financial Aid package or who already were determined to be work-study eligible by Financial Aid. Compensation for Spring 2015 is $8.75/hour, and the maximum commitment is an average of eight hours a week. Students can earn up to the full amount of their award, but cannot exceed it. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with questions about eligibility.
Work-study jobs are neither assigned or guaranteed; you must actively seek a position (with our help, of course!) through CCN-Morrisville, our on-line jobs and internships portal. Click here for information on how to look for jobs in CCN-Morrisville. Contact us at 315.684.6615 or CareerServices@morrisville.edu, or stop by Whipple 308, with any questions about applying.
Check out our 2014/15 Federal Work-Study Employee Handbook for information such as the documents required for getting set up on the MSC payroll, securing and completing timesheets, the 2014/15 payroll schedule, and procedures for securing a FWS award for future academic years.
Student Temp Services
Student Temp Services jobs are in departments across the campus and are open to all students. Some positions require specific skills and experience; others do not. The pay rate is $8.75/hour. Student Temp Services jobs require an average commitment of four to ten hours a week and are typically for the length of the academic year.
We expect there will be very few Student Temp Services vacancies for Spring 2015; if there are openings, they will be posted in CCN-Morrisville, our on-line jobs and internships portal. Click here for instructions on how to access and use CCN-Morrisville. Contact us at 315.684.6615 or CareerServices@morrisville.edu with any questions.
