Meet our Student Ambassadors

Our Student Ambassador program gives students the opportunity to further develop their leadership and communication skills while sharing their experiences as a MSC student with others.

Ian Wood

Why I came to Morrisville-

I came to Morrisville because it was the perfect fit for me. I wanted to go to a small school with a college town feel, earn a great degree and play college hockey.

 

Favorite thing to do on campus-

I enjoy having lunch with my friends at Seneca Dinning Hall and training in the great facilities our campus has to offer.

 

Hobbies-

- Fishing

- Hanging out with friends 

Nicole Chiappetta

Why I came to Morrisville:
I chose Morrisville because of the endless opportunities that the Equine program has to offer. Morrisville has by far the most hands on program around and that is the most important part of being an Equine major. Morrisville feels more like home than anything does and that is the best part about it! 


Favorite thing to do on campus:

 I love going to all the sporting events! Being an athlete on campus, I like being able to support my fellow athletes and friends! 

 

Hobbies:

My hobbies include horseback riding, playing on the Morrisville softball team, skiing, and just doing anything outdoors! 

Maria Cortezano

Why I came to Morrisville:
I came to Morrisville because the environment was different then the chaos I’m used to in the city. Morrisville provided me a peaceful gateway from all the chaos and allowed me to really focus on my school work. The size of the classrooms was also a big bonus on my list. I could easily interact with my professors and really have a voice.  

Hobbies:

  • Playing Pool
  • Watching movies
  • Going to adventurous places

Favorite thing to do on campus:  My favorite thing to do on campus is play pool in STUAC with friends in between classes, and going to L.A.S.O meetings. 

Mikaela Cormier

Why I came to Morrisville: I came to Morrisville because I love the community feel where everybody knows everybody. I also really like how the equine program is extremely diverse and hands on.


Favorite thing to do on campus: My favorite thing to do on campus is to go to sporting events and open skate.


Hobbies: I love horseback riding, kayaking, and cooking.

Why I came to Morrisville: I wanted a change from the city life and when I heard about Morrisville I knew it was a change I needed. I heard how great the Nursing program was at Morrisville and decided to transfer in. Throughout my time at Morrisville I have been through many crossroads along the way, but I keep my head up and continue to pursue my dreams.

Favorite thing to do on campus: Viewing the scenery during the seasons, looking at the stars, weekly movies in the theatre, and riding the carnival rides

 

Hobbies: Netflix, cooking, traveling, listening to music and crocheting.

Shaquella Walker

Why I came to Morrisville:
I came to Morrisville State College because I wanted to surround myself with a new environment, new opportunities to meet new people and experience new things. I also heard a lot of good things about the programs when I visited during Accepted Students Day.


Favorite thing to do on campus:
My favorite thing to do on campus is to participate in the programs offered by our Student Activities Office.  Many of the activities take place in STUAC or our Student Union.  We often times go on trips outside of campus to places like Destiny USA Mall, Sky Zone, Amusement Parks and many other trips.


Hobbies:

Cooking, Studying, Shopping, Texting, Drawing, and Snapchatting.

Sarah Karaman

 I spend the majority of my free time at the gym! I love our gym and it feels like my home away from home at times. I also enjoy going to sporting events and connecting with peers whenever I get the chance.

Why I came to morrisville:

 I came to morrisville because I was having a series of hip surgeries done, some of which during my first few semesters here. I needed to be close to home to be taken care of and close to my doctors, so commuting to Morrisville seemed like the best option. When I researched Morrisville I found the HPHP program and it sounded like the perfect major for me, and sure enough it is! I love the small classes and the connections you can make with your professors and peers which goes beyond a typical college

Hobbies: Is working out a hobby?! I love being outdoors doing things like hiking and taking walks, I also love cooking/baking and enjoy using essential oils for basically everything!  

Emily Bates

Why I came to Morrisville:

                I came to Morrisville for the Equine Science program. The diversity of the program and its professors made the decision easy. The Morrisville campus is also the place where I felt the most at home.


Favorite thing to do on campus:

                I love walking around campus in the fall when the weather is crisp and the leaves have turned. A visit to the horse barns is also always a favorite thing.


Hobbies:

                My hobbies include horseback riding, dog training, and reading.

Why I came to Morrisville: I came to Morrisville State College because I know they had a great journalism program and I definitely didn’t want to stay in the city.

Why I came to Morrisville: It just felt right. I had visited a couple other campuses on my search for the right place for my degree. I walked on campus and felt like I was home. I was amazed by how much Morrisville had to offer for something I love so much, horses.

Favorite thing to do on campus: Cheer on our amazing football team at our games!

Hobbies: Horseback riding, ice skating, dancing and everything fun!

Why I came to Morrisville:

I wanted to further my education in an new environment that still felt similar to home. Morrisville is diverse, exciting, and perfect for anyone interested in agriculture. I love being a part of the athletics department at Morrisville too!


Favorite thing to do on campus:

I love going to sporting events and cheering for my friends and classmates.


Hobbies:

I stay busy with sports activities on campus. I am a member of the women’s lacrosse team and a Student Athlete Advisory Committee. I also love exploring the outdoors.
